The Seles Axos saxophone is made in the Henri Selmer Paris factory located in Mantes-la-Ville, France, in the same factory as all other models since 1922. Like all top-of-the-range Henri Selmer Paris instruments, this model continues the tradition of craftsmanship manufacturing integrating new industrial techniques.
"The Axos is such an important contribution to the line of Selmer-Paris saxophones! Using innovative design and construction techniques, it has flawless response and impeccable intonation, and continues the legacy of the signature Selmer sound. A great achievement!"
Dr. Timothy McAllister - University of Michigan
Aiming to make quality instruments available to a greater number of musicians, Axos provides playing comfort with its specially adapted keywork as well as great mechanical reliability.
The Axos brings with it the heritage of over a century of history and technical knowledge from Henri Selmer Paris, the world leader in saxophone design and production.
"Axos has totally won me over! It is easy to play in the low register and has an espeically full and round sound in the middle register. All this while keeping Selmer's trademark: richness, sound and projection."
Claude Delangle - International Soloist / Professor at the Paris Conservatoire
Axos is made with the same quality metals as the other Henri Selmer Paris saxophones. The way in which the strategic part of the saxophone, the bore, is treated in our metal workshops is as rigorous as the treatment of the professional models. This guarantees that the Henri Selmer Paris sound identity is found as well on the Axos, a delicate balance between rich harmonics and roundness of sound.
On March 12, 2017, Euro-French Astronaut, Thomas Pesquet, received a surprise birthday gift from the crew onboard the International Space Station. The Henri Selmer Paris Axos saxophone was delivered to him by the SpaceX Dragon in collaboration with Mission Control in NASA's Johnson Space Center Houston.
"You never know where music will take you.. or where you will take it! My saxophone ended up on the International Space Station!"
Thomas Pesquet - Astronaut
On October 3, 2018, 16 Levers De Soleil premiered in select French theaters featuring Thomas. The documentary details his incredible journey through space.
