What subjects are covered in the CSI music education sessions?
The curriculum includes a broad range of topics covering information that is geared toward facilitating program success. Sessions in the past have included proven ways to recruit and retain students, managing classroom behavior and performance, travel tips, collegial sharing and collaboration, advice on how to work well with school administrators and much more.
Who are the faculty at CSI?
The Conn-Selmer Institute faculty is comprised of nationally recognized master music educators and music industry professionals. Each year this outstanding group of clinicians present fast-paced, motivational sessions that provide relevant and useful information for attendees.
Can you earn college credit by participating in CSI?
Absolutely! Conn-Selmer, Inc. and VanderCook College of Music are partnering together to offer an outstanding opportunity for teachers to receive up to two college credits by attending Conn-Selmer Institute. The cost for one college credit from VanderCook is typically about $300.00. However, for this year's event, Conn-Selmer has generously offered to pay half of your tuition fee through a CSI Scholarship. The cost per credit is now only $150!

Can you attend CSI before graduating from college?
Certainly! Conn-Selmer Institute has created a special track of classes specifically designed to address the interests and needs of music education majors and first-year teachers. College students and recent college graduates are not only provided with endless networking opportunities, but they are also able to attend clinics that cover topics that range from resume building to classroom set-up and student motivation. CSI is dedicated to providing pertinent and valuable growth and development opportunities for all music educators; whether they are seasoned veterans or teachers-in-training.
What happened to Conn-Selmer University?
When Conn-Selmer University was founded in 1997, it was geared entirely toward college students and first-year teachers. As the workshop grew in popularity, sessions for veteran educators and music administrators were added to the clinic roster. This growth served as a catalyst that resulted in the eventual name change to Conn-Selmer Institute in 2007.
